Hand of Worlds is a STEM game disguised as a cozy god game. A sleeping planet wakes in your palms. Drag a cloud over dry ground and it rains. Warm a sprout with a sunbeam and it grows. Trace a river with your finger, and tiny Worldlings move in, build houses, take jobs, fall in love and throw festivals. The science is built into the world itself — and it never lectures.

REAL SCIENCE, GENTLY

• Weather: a Weather Station whose anemometer spins with the day's wind, a barometer that falls before a storm, and a forecast you make yourself

• Earth: a volcano with a magma chamber you can see, mountains to hike, seasons that come from a tilt, snow in the cold country while the tropics stay green

• Space: build the Spaceport — countdown, liftoff, satellites deployed — and watch the booster fly home to be caught by the tower. Zoom out past the clouds to the Moon and the planets, and catch the space station passing overhead

• Stars: the Observatory dome opens after dark — real constellations, the Moon's phases, meteor showers

• Radio: the Ham Shack has a working Morse key — tap out messages, call the space station, hunt a hidden transmitter
